Galatea Quartett Wins the Echo Deutscher Musikpreis Klassik 2012 with their Bloch CD “Landscapes”

On October 14th, 2012, the Galatea Quartett was awarded the Echo Deutscher Musikpreis in the category Chamber Music Recording for Strings, 20th/21st Century for their CD “Landscapes” (Sony). The Association BloCH had contributed the CD booklet texts to the quartet’s CD.

Bloch’s Chamber Music Performed on December 11,  2011 in Zürich

The event took place as a contribution to the 70th anniversary celebrations of the Swiss-Jewish association Omanut, the Association BloCH entered into a collaboration with Omanut.

The Quatuor Terpsychordes and Cédric Pescia performed two chamber music works by Ernest Bloch – the 1st Piano  Quintet and the 2nd string quartet in connection with a world premiere of a chamber music piece written by Swiss composer Daniel Weissberg.

The celebrations were held throughout the entire day on December 11 in the Kongresshaus in Zürich and culminated in the chamber music recital of the Quatuor Terpsychordes and Cédric Pescia in the evening.
